Group 2: Different Vehicles

Two steamers
Gauge 2 is only slightly greater in size than gauge 1. Here on the outer loop the gauge 2 live steam locomotive R 4022 pulls a mixed train of passenger and freight cars. The other R 4022 pulls a short train of small compartmented cars. Both locomotives were produced by Marklin around 1902 to 1910. The gauge 1 cars in the background provide a size comparison.

Adler
A gauge 1 ADLER train with Mr. William Wilson at the controls. Marklin produced this train between 1935 and 1937 on the occasion of the anniversary of “100 Years of Railways in Germany”.

Metro
Usually a “Metro” travels underground but we have our gauge ‘0’ travels above ground so that we can really see the beautiful set. Marklin produced these vehicles between 1908 and 1911. There was a “tractor” and two “trailers”. The model represents the Paris Metro of this period. We have replica trains here on the tracks. An original would be priceless.

Streamliner
The year is 1936. An express train awaits departure from Hamburg to Berlin. This streamlined locomotive could reach a top speed of 175 km/hour – incredible for its time. We can’t drive our HEHR replica locomotive that fast!
