Wolfgang and his wife Birgit retired from the full time restoration business in 2010 but continue to work, at a more leisurely pace, on restoring and replicating Marklin toy trains. Actually his focus today is on replicas, he does little restoration work anymore, and he has a two year backlog of work to complete. Plus he intends to construct, for his own collection, replicas of two stations from the early 1900s that today are extremely rare and priceless.

Shown here is one of the stations he is constructing, a replica of a station #2142 catalogued from 1900 – 1902. From the inset one can see his progress over a summer.

Although he is currently fully “booked”, Wolfgang will accept inquiries from those who are seriously interested in purchasing one of his trains or stations. He can be contacted directly at wo.bau@gmx.de. The method of payment, PayPal, Bank Transfer, etc. can be clarified if the proposed project is accepted.
